The Girls Code Lincoln Podcast
Each month hosts Elsbeth Magilton (Girls Code Lincoln board president) and Aakriti Agrawal (co-founder and operations director) profile a historical woman in STEM and introduce listeners to a coder, engineer, or scientist in the Midwest. Girls Code Lincoln is a community organization in Lincoln Nebraska that teaches 4th-9th graders coding and confidence through free weekly clubs, as well as public events to promote technology literacy across the community. This podcast is great for family listening in the car and is probably most interesting to kids over 9 and into adulthood. Content is always appropriate for all ages. Our theme music is 'Then it Went Like' by Grace Mesa. Lysandra Marquez is our producer.

Episode 7
On this episode Aakriti and Elsbeth think about communication and information technology infrastructure. We profile Mabelle Kelso, one of the earliest female maritime radiotelegraph operators, and interview Sanaz Ahmadi, the Director of Information Technology for Nebraska Public Media, Nebraska’s NPR and PBS affiliate. Nebraska Public Media reaches more than 1 million Nebraskans each month through television, radio, online and mobile platforms.
Note: Elsbeth's microphone failed during our biography segment and late in the episode during the final wrap up, so please forgive some less polished audio as we relied on shared mics - it's our lesson in challenges and being adaptable with our technology. Critical skills for success!
